I am an independent ecological consultant and botanist with over 40 years professional experience working in the UK and the Arabian Gulf region. In the UK I specialise in vegetation surveys (NVC and UKHab), GIS mapping and habitat condition assessment, but can also undertake other specialist botanical work (including surveys of invasive non-native species and bryophytes).
I also design and publish books on natural history and wildlife under the imprint of Browndown Publications and edit and produce the newsletters of the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI News) and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Flora Group.
My clients include larger ecological consultancies, planning consultancies, public utility companies, non-governmental organisations and private individuals. I am a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), a committee member of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight’s Flora Group and the British Bryological Society’s regional recorder for VC10 (Isle of Wight) and VC11 (South Hampshire). See the links opposite for further details.
